Jewel Wasps
Jewel wasps (Cuckoo Wasps) are one of the UK's most colourful insects. A tiny iridescent solitary wasp. Once the heat of the sun hits them they can be hard to spot, constantly on the move and hard to keep track of. The most impressive the UK has to offer is the Ruby-Tailed wasp, red/pink hues at the abdomen and green/blue from thorax to head.
